Winding down the fanciest
version of RR 12 Wimberley has enjoyed to date, the 2006 4th of
July parade had an enthusiastic attendance in both the spectator
and participant categories. With more entries than ever, there was
plenty to see. Entries included the Wimberley Civic Club,
Wimberley's Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, the Wimberley
Players, the EmilyAnn Theatre, the Texas Master Naturalists, the
Wimberley Rotary Club, the Wimberley Lions Club, Hays County CERT,
the popular Shrine clowns, Keep Wimberley Beautiful, and many, many
more. The new Cypress Creek
bridge and road improvements made this year's viewing much
more comfortable than the construction environment permitted last
year, although loyal Wimberley parade goers never let a little thing
like road dust interfere with this event. This year's weather was
ideal, the holiday weekend stretched into four days, and a memorable
experience is now recorded in Wimberley history.
